Session formats
We envisage the following session formats:
- Workshops
- Round tables
- Panel discussions
- Showcase pitches
- Posters
During the three day conference we will also host various keynote speakers and plenaries.
Submission process and selection of the contributions
The submission process will be organised in an innovative way, which will give the community more possibility to shape the structure of the conference and make the conference more inclusive.
In the first part we invite proposals for panels, roundtables, and workshops. These proposals will outline the main questions or themes to be addressed, but need not (and should not) contain constituent papers/contributions. While you may have colleagues in mind for your proposed panel, etc, the idea is that they will be open to others you may not yet know. Just as some examples: “Ways to preserve healthy oceans and freshwater” or “How can we build trust in citizen science data” or “Addressing climate change and advocating for environmental justice” or “AI in citizen science”, etc.
Once the topics are confirmed by the scientific committee, we will open a second call inviting contributions to these sessions as well as posters and showcase pitches. You may invite colleagues who you know have something to say on your topic; but you may also receive proposals from others whose work aligns, who you are not yet aware of. When the call for papers ends, the convenors of each panel, etc will be asked to log in, review and make decisions over which of the received proposals they wish to accept/reject.
